Candida is found normally within the gut and can live there quite happily not causing problems. However, should an overgrowth occur the candida will bury itself into the wall of the gut and extend tenacles through the lining and release spores into the blood stream.

This means the candida has become systemic throughout the body and can travel to any of your organs, start breeding and spreading causing damage.

It also means that small particles of food and fecal debris can leak through the gut wall, known as leaky gut syndrome, into your blood stream leading to allergies and food intolerence.

I would suggest that you seek a second opinion from another doctor if you aren't happy with the response from the first.

Candida is not something that should be ignored.

Hello,
Do you know if a person is supposed to have 'lot's of huge budding yeast spores' on a blood culture(smear)?A naturopathic Dr. told me I do,and that "I have a very bad infection going on in my body somewhere that I should have a Dr.look for'.I know I have a bad infection, but I also think on top of that infection that I have a candida infection. And I don't think it's supposed to be in the bloodstream at all, to my understanding that is a serious infection if it's there. The Dr. ignored the naturopathic Dr.'s finding it on the smear, and made no comment when I asked him the same question.Do you know about candida showing up in the blood?
